EP 57: Understanding Thyroid Imbalances and Natural Solutions

Welcome to another episode of the Healthy You Naturally wellness journey!

In #57, we explore the body’s small yet powerful unsung hero and its wide-ranging influences.

Have you ever experienced:

  • Persistent fatigue
  • Lingering anxiety
  • Cold and can’t get warm
  • Struggles with stubborn weight
  • You are doing everything ‘right,’ yet the symptoms remain?

There is one tiny organ that is too often overlooked, misunderstood, misdiagnosed and you may be surprised to discover it is our thyroid!

Hippocrates once said,

“The natural healing force within each of us is the greatest force in getting well.”

We delve into this small part of our very complex body to examine the hormones it produces and their impacts.

We will also go deeper to understand how and why it has such a big impact on our entire body, and our wellness.

This petite, butterfly-shaped gland in the neck plays a crucial role in overall health, yet it is often disregarded until things go wrong.

Its symptoms can often mimic other conditions, leading to common misunderstandings, and misdiagnosis.

Nearly 60% of people with thyroid imbalances are undiagnosed or unaware of their condition so let’s start by understanding what the thyroid actually does.

The thyroid is part of the endocrine system, a network of glands that secrete hormones acting as chemical messengers. These hormones can stimulate or suppress activity in other glands, where even a subtle imbalance can have widespread effects.

The thyroid is a small gland, but its impact on our well-being is enormous. When it falters, the whole body feels the ripple effect. We will discuss how the thyroid gland influences key functions including:

  • Metabolism (how our body converts food into energy)
  • Body temperature regulation
  • Cholesterol levels, yes cholesterol levels
  • Heart rate and pulse strength
  • Mood and brain function

I invite you to join me as we explore how the thyroid is intricately connected with other key systems in the body, including the liver, gut, adrenals, pituitary, and female organs. By understanding these connections, you can take manageable steps to address root causes and improve your overall well-being.

The reality for most of us is that there are a lot of complex factors that influence us daily, this episode will discuss knowledge and experiences that have proven effective which I hope resonate with you!

Till next time ... with love, light, and gratitude...
