The Power of a Healthy Colon
Saying a healthy colon is 'essential' almost feels like an understatement as it sets the stage for everything in our health and life. It is absolutely at the root of so many causes and its impact, from energy, clarity, and vitality to moods, hormones, weight, brain function, urinary health, respiratory health, and so much more.
For this episode I couldn’t choose just one quote to start this episode, so I decided to share both. Hippocrates, the father of medicine, said over 2,400 years ago:
"All disease starts in the gut" and "Good health starts in the gut"
These words tie beautifully into this episode's theme, emphasizing the importance of gut health long before modern science confirmed it.
They remind us that nurturing our colon is one of the most powerful steps we can take toward overall health and vitality, and also to get rid of symptoms.
I was fortunate to be introduced to this concept in the early 1990s, during one of the most challenging times in my life. Gail, the practitioner who helped me recover when I was very sick, was my first mentor and the person who inspired me to do what I do today.
I’ll never forget the first time I met her. She looked at me and said, 'Diane, before you can walk daily and properly, we need to work on your colon and bowel movements!'
I’ve had the privilege to not only experience this truth personally but also witness it countless times with my clients. A healthy colon truly is foundational for feeling better, having more energy, living vibrantly and being symptom-free, no matter what is going on in our body!
